Q. What are the Maximum Dimensions?
A. The main heightmap editor maximum dimensions are 8GB or 65536×32751 or 46329×46329.
The main editor is being updated to 65536×65536 with a future capability of 2 billion x 2 billion.
The Windows Image APIs for BMP,GIF,JPG,JRX,PNG,TIF have a maximum of:
– RGB/RGBA 2GB 26754×26754
– Gray-16 2GB 32767×32767
– Gray-8 2GB 46329×46329
The individual tools have maximum dimensions limited by the Windows Image APIs for BMP,GIF,JPG,JRX,PNG,TIF of:
– Bitplane Creator: 2GB RGBA Image 26754×26754
– Continent Modifier: 8GB Heightmap 46329×46329
– Contour Creator: 2GB RGBA Image 26754×26754
– Mask Editor: 8GB Mask 46329×46329

Q. Why Does the UI Look Dated?
A. The default user interface is using the Office 2010 Black theme skin.
There are many dark, medium, light, and holiday theme skins.
To change the theme skin to a more modern dark theme, choose the Settings on the Tools menu, and choose the Interface tab.  There you will find more than 50 skins.
For dark theme skins try: Dark Side, Darkroom, DevExpress Dark Style, Metropolis Dark, Office 2016 Black, Office 2019 Black, or Visual Studio 2013 Dark.
